The practice address is in Hertford, at The Garden Centre on Birchall Lane. Mrs Antony’s back garden was a wasteland. It is now lawn, sandstone, gravel on a change of level, a new fence, and a utility area at the bottom.
Plots in the county town often drop towards the Lea or sit on older, mixed ground, so levels are drawn rather than ignored. A vegetable patch can stay if that is the gardening you enjoy. The rest of the garden should not depend on every Sunday.
East Herts Council covers tree preservation orders. Conifers, fruit trees and large boundary trees are on the surgery list when a garden is being opened up.
