Landscape gardeners in Radlett
Deeper plots and steep entrances. The Kharne drive is the published example of this kind of hill.
Radlett plots often run further back than the pavement suggests. Drives fall away from the house or climb straight up from the road, so the wall is as much of the job as the paving.
Mr and Mrs Kharne’s entrance is the one in the portfolio. A long, steep drive was rebuilt in block paving, with stone and wood-log walling holding the bank, and left ready for planting once the hard landscaping had fixed the lines.
Behind the houses the request is familiar: a place to sit, a lawn that can be cut in one session, and trees dealt with before they lean on a fence. Hertsmere covers tree preservation orders in the parish.
