Humpage courtyard

A side return paved in sandstone, with a brick planter, slate, pebbles and pots along the house.

Before and after of a side courtyard, from bare soil and weeds to sandstone paving, a brick planter and a slate circle.
Before and after. Photographs from the original Hertfordshire Garden Landscapes portfolio.

The photographs show a narrow side return. One side is bare soil, weeds and a concrete panel fence. The other is the finished courtyard.

Sandstone runs the length of the house. A low brick planter takes the level change at the boundary, with slate and three upright stones in a circle of pebbles. Pots line the house wall and a timber screen closes the far end. Paving, blocks, pebbles and slate share the same small space, with raised beds and sculptures kept off the walking surface.

Service: Hard landscaping.
